The Jim Moran Institute Celebrates 23rd Birthday

Apr 13, 2018

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, part of the Florida State University College of Business, celebrated 23 years of successfully training entrepreneurs and assisting businesses through world-class executive education earlier today.

The staff of the Jim Moran Institute celebrated by participating in the Big Bend Minority Chamber’s (BBMC) PB&J Campaign.  Each year, during the month of April, the BBMC collects peanut butter and jelly for the Second Harvest of the Big Bend. All donations are distributed to families in the Big Bend region who face serious food shortages.

The past year included many changes and notable achievements for the Jim Moran Institute as they continued to expand statewide operations, including the opening of two new offices in Jacksonville and Tallahassee. The Jacksonville office allows the Jim Moran Institute to serve more entrepreneurs in the North Florida region, while the new office in downtown Tallahassee serves as its statewide headquarters and the location for all Tallahassee programs.

The organization also hosted the inaugural Seminole 100 in March 2018. Seminole 100 recognizes the 100 fastest-growing FSU alumni-owned businesses in the U.S. at a celebration on FSU's campus each year, during which each company learns their numerical ranking and receives their award. This event honors FSU's entrepreneurs and allows them to share valuable business insights with each other.

The organization is also looking forward to hosting its 8th Annual Small Business Leadership Conference in Orlando from August 1 – 3 later this year.
