Now is a great time to make a gift to the college

The College of Business relies on the generosity of alumni and friends who endorse our mission of excellence. This support has played a vital role in propelling the college into the front ranks of the world’s preeminent business schools. Now, more than ever, your financial support is essential to sustain this important legacy.

In the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings, our overall undergraduate program moved up 14 spots to No. 27 among public business schools and up 18 spots to No. 45 among all business schools, public and private. This amazing leap is in no small part because of your continued investment in the college, which enables us to recruit and retain the most talented faculty members and students and ensure our programs stay on the cutting edge. In fact, alumni giving is a key metric used in university rankings.

The reasons for making a gift are personal and varied. Perhaps you are grateful for your FSU experience and want to “pay it forward.” Maybe you would like to leave a legacy to benefit future Seminoles. Or, you are passionate about supporting an important cause – research, student scholarships and fellowships, endowed professorships or professional development. Or you may simply wish to take advantage of the tax benefits that come with making a gift.

There are many ways to make an investment in the College of Business, and our assistant dean for development, Kimberly Hankerson, and development officers, Jessica Bivens, Thomas Guthrie and Kellie Rattiganare eager to work with you in determining what kind of essential support works best for you and the college. As the end of the calendar year nears, now is a great time to make a charitable gift.

From outright gifts of cash, to appreciated stocks and mutual funds, to real estate assets, our team can help you tailor your gift in numerous ways. And, don’t forget about the matching gifts that many corporations will also make on behalf of their employees. Please speak with a development officer soon to ensure your gift to Florida State is processed and applied to the 2017 tax year.

Our college has been shaped by a succession of visionary men and women like you who continue to invest their time, insights and financial resources. We hope you will once again consider supporting our vision of preeminence.
