New engagement coordinator to help strengthen ties with alumni

Chelsea_VaughnWith an alumni base of 70,000 and growing, the College of Business is intent on ensuring all its graduates are aware of the benefits of being involved with their alma mater, as well as the opportunities to leave a legacy for the next generation.

To that end, the college has named Chelsea Vaughn the new alumni engagement coordinator.

Vaughn will assist in developing the college’s relationships with alumni and seeking out more of their involvement as board members, volunteers and donors. She will help establish new programs, communications and events aimed at encouraging alumni participation. She also will be working with leaders of the college’s various industry boards to coordinate and schedule their events.

“Chelsea will play a crucial role on our team, and we are confident our alumni will enjoy working with her on many fronts,” said Marissa Langston, assistant dean for Alumni and Community Engagement.

Vaughn, who earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Editing, Writing and Media in 2015 and is working on her Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance (MS-RMI), has served as administrative assistant to the associate deans at the college since 2016.

Over the past year, the college formed a strong team responsible for building relationships with alumni, corporate partners and students. In addition to Langston and Vaughn, the alumni and community engagement team includes:

L. Shuntel Fuller: As event manager, Fuller is responsible for developing, coordinating and managing the college’s numerous special events.

Marissa Mainwood: As the student engagement coordinator, Mainwood is charged with increasing student participation in college and campus-wide programs, including those with alumni, that strengthen leadership skills and enhance career prospects.

Alex Massey: As corporate relations coordinator, Massey is responsible for increasing the number of internships and opening the pipeline to permanent positions for students.
