Dr. Meredith Rhoads Thomas is an assistant professor in the Dr. Persis E. Rockwood School of Marketing at Florida State University’s College of Business. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, specifically related to consumption communities, social issues related to the consumption of space and place, and community resources and consumer well-being. Her work has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing and Public Policy. Thomas also has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing research, consumer behavior and brand management.

Thomas earned her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and an MBA, both from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. Before earning her Ph.D., Thomas worked for several years in new product development, customer relationship management and marketing management.
