David Brooks is a managing director and an SVP of Enterprise Risk Management for XL Catlin. He is responsible for the identification and management of all material underwriting and enterprise risks throughout the organization, with a primary focus on manmade perils and emerging risks. In addition to overseeing high-risk underwriting, catastrophe aggregation and emerging-risk identification, additional responsibilities include the continued evolution of enterprise risk management initiatives into the various (re)insurance businesses and legal entities. Brooks sits as a director on eight of the XL Catlin U.S. insurance company boards.

Prior to joining XL in 1998, Brooks worked for 16 years in the insurance brokerage industry, with primary involvement in the sales and servicing of large, multinational Fortune 1000 accounts.

Brooks graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in finance from the University of Southern California and earned an M.S. in risk management and insurance from Florida State University. He also earned Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designations.
