Changing Your Major

Current Upper Division Business Majors

If you have been admitted to an upper division business major and would like to change to another major within business, you may do so by going to the College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office (RBB 321) to complete the proper paperwork.

If you would like to change your major to an area outside of business, you must go to the advising office for that particular major to initiate a request to change your major.

Current Lower Division Business-Intent Students

As a lower division business-intent student, you will automatically be considered for admission to an upper division business major when you have completed 52 semester hours. No separate admission application is required. You will be notified of your admission status as soon as you complete 52 semester hours.

If, prior to being admitted to an upper division business major, you decide that you no longer intend to major in business, you must go to the department offering the major you wish to pursue.  If you are unsure of which major is best suited for your personal and career goals, please go to the Center for Academic Planning in University Center A3200 for guidance.

Students Wanting to Change their Major to Business

If you are a non-business student, who would like to change your current major to a business major, you must meet with an advisor in the College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office (RBB 321).

Please Note: If you are a lower division student (with less than 52 hours earned), you will be eligible to change your major to business-intent only if you are on-course to satisfy the milestones of the Business-Intent Academic Map for your term. If you are an upper division student in another college, you will be eligible to change to an upper division business major only if you have satisfied the Admission Requirements and the mapping requirements for Business-Intent Majors no later than your fifth term of enrollment.
