2021 ALUMNI HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE

Peter Collins, co-founder and managing principal of Forge Capital Partners, LLC ("Forge"), directs all private equity activities and is the CEO of Forge's real estate private equity fund business. Over the last 20 years, he has overseen more than $1.5 billion of real estate and corporate transactions, including more than 8 million square feet of commercial and residential real estate development, acquisitions or dispositions. 

Prior to co-founding Forge, Collins spent four years as managing director with Rock Creek Capital. One of the Southeast's largest private equity firms, Rock Creek backed several successful early-stage companies across the United States. 

He also served as a manager with the Florida State Board of Administration and worked on major economic issues involving the State of Florida Retirement Trust Fund, Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund and the Florida Division of Bond Finance. 

In 2010, he was confirmed by the Florida Senate to the $200 billion State of Florida Pension Investment Advisory Council and recently ended a term as its chair. In 2019, he was elected to the Florida Council of 100 Board. He also is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. 

An Eagle Scout, Collins is the Boy Scouts of America’s Southern Region, Area 4 president and executive board member. He also is a past member of the organization’s National Foundation Board of Directors, as well as the former chairman of its investment committee. Collins is the recipient of the Boy Scouts of America’s prestigious Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and National Outstanding Eagle Scout awards. 

Collins was recently appointed to the FSU Board of Trustees. He is a former executive committee member of the FSU College of Business Board of Governors and served as an FSU Foundation trustee, recently completing a two-year term as chair of the Foundation's endowment. Collins has been a generous financial supporter of FSU and the college and was instrumental in creating the Peter and Jennifer Collins Real Estate Graduate Fellowship.
