The Student Investment Fund (SIF) at Florida State University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Business ranks among the Top 10 student-managed investment funds at public schools nationwide, according to recently released rankings published by The Center for Investment Research.

The Herbert Wertheim College of Business' inaugural Red Hat Day featured students, faculty, staff, alumni and Florida State University officials who gathered, topped in red, in honor and celebration of Dr. Herbert Wertheim, whose record philanthropic investment launched a new era of preeminence in the college and whose ever-present red fedora has emerged as a collegewide symbol of distinction and optimism.

The MBA specialty in real estate at Florida State University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Business retained its Top 10 standing, ranking No. 8 among public schools, listed in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 graduate rankings released today. Among all U.S. schools, FSU ranked No. 14.

With their latest contribution to Florida State University, Gail and Bob Knight have established the Gail and Bob Knight Distinguished Professor of Accounting at FSU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Business, where Gail earned a degree in accounting in 1982. The $500,000 gift is part of a $1 million investment that also includes $500,000 to establish the Bob and Gail Knight Distinguished Professor of Audiology in the FSU College of Communication and Information, where Bob earned a degree in speech communication in 1981.

James M. Seneff, a celebrated alumnus and major supporter of Florida State University, on Friday encouraged a cohort of elite students in the Herbert Wertheim College of Business to emphasize means, ends and time in their life and career pursuits.

For accounting researcher Nate Newton, the best fact-finding and analysis – the kind that makes a lasting impact – starts with a relevant question. “Every question I research has to be something I think auditors would care about,” said Newton, the Homer Black Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Florida State University Herbert Wertheim College of Business.

The Herbert Wertheim College of Business at Florida State University once again secured Top 20 standings among public schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 national rankings of best online master’s degrees released today.

Brian Murphy, CEO and founder of ReliaQuest, spoke on the second day of spring classes this month at Florida State University's Herbert Wertheim Center for Business Success. He did so in the marquee space that bears his and his wife’s names, the Brian and Renee Murphy Forum.

The event featured a ribbon-cutting and ceremonial signing of the gift agreement in recognition of Dr. Herbert Wertheim’s $65 million philanthropic investment in the college as well as tours of the 218,000 square-foot facility.
