For the first time, FSU secured a Top 20 spot on U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious list of Best Undergraduate Business Management Programs. U.S. News ranked FSU’s program No. 17 among public universities and No. 31 overall. The 2019 ranking is based on the judgments of deans and senior faculty members nationwide, and management programs must be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) to be considered. No doubt our high ranking reflects the quality of our faculty members, who are held in high regard by their peers due to their groundbreaking research. In fact, Gerald Ferris, Wayne Hochwarter, Pamela Perrewé and Chad Van Iddekinge, recently received recognition for being in the “Top 1 Percent” of their field based on the number of citations their research received in textbooks. Additionally, Van Iddenkinge ranks No. 1 in the world for his prolific scholarship in human resource management. In total, our faculty members published more than 40 research articles and their research was cited more than 10,000 times in 2018 alone. That is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of our program’s recent rankings.

The College of Business and Florida State University also continue to rise in U.S. News & World Report’s national rankings. The college moved up one spot to No. 26 among public universities; it is ranked No. 44 among all schools. The university jumped seven spots to No. 26 among national public universities – the biggest single-year improvement in university history. U.S. News determines its national rankings for universities based on graduation and retention rates, expert opinion (peer and high school counselor assessment), faculty resources, student excellence, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving.

You can help the university continue rising in the rankings and increase the value of your degree by donating $1 or more to the Department of Management. Visit business.fsu.edu/give, click the “Give Now” button and select “Management F00991” in the designation drop-down menu. Alumni giving is based on the number of alumni giving, not the amount, so any amount helps us achieve our goal of being a top-ranked university!
