Alumnus Jon (J.D.) Pellecchia is the Florida State University College of Business 2020 Accounting Alumni Achievement Award recipient.

Pellecchia, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, Certified Investment Management Analyst® professional and Certified Kingdom Advisor™, is the owner and CEO of PFS Financial, a comprehensive, boutique wealth management firm located in Tampa, Florida.

Prior to establishing PFS Financial in 2006, he served his country with honor for nine years in the United States Marine Corps as a Naval Aviator in the EA-6B aircraft. He received his Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from Florida State University and an International MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Building on the foundation of his education and experience as a fourth generation Marine Corps officer, Pellecchia’s background includes 20 years of successful financial analysis and investment planning with Friedman Billings and Ramsey, Merrill Lynch, Private Bank at Bank of America and PFS Financial. During which time, he met the rigorous education, examination, experience and ethics requirements necessary to earn the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. Pellecchia also earned the Qualified Kingdom Advisor™ designation, which recognizes him as a committed Christian financial professional who has met high standards in training, integrity, character and competence as an advisor, leader and counselor.

Pellecchia is an avid advocate for many charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area. For First Priority Tampa Bay, he serves as treasurer and is former chairman of the Board. For the Salvation Army, Pellecchia serves on the executive committee and as chair of the finance committee. He also serves as a local ambassador for the sixth largest U.S. non-profit, National Christian Foundation. He lends expert guidance and creative giving solutions to help community members experience the joy of simplifying their giving and multiplying their impact. Pellecchia also serves on the personnel committee and was the former chair of the finance committee for his local church, South Tampa Fellowship.

Pellecchia is an outdoor enthusiast. He’s a four-time finisher of the Marine Corps Marathon and distinguished himself as a Top 20 finisher in the Hawaii Half-Ironman many years ago. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is the husband of Julie and father of two young adult children, Tye and Amelia.
