1. What are your primary responsibilities?

Prior to my retirement, I was ultimately responsible for all aspects of both companies' operations including income, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement. It was my job to set the "tone at the top" that influenced all aspects of our business processes. One of the most satisfying achievements was guiding our team from the creation of Auto Club Insurance Company of Florida (ACICF) to its profitable growth to $180 million in premium over a six year period.

2. Why did you choose the online Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance (MS-RMI) Program at FSU?

Advancing my knowledge of the insurance industry has always been a priority for me. Florida State’s Online Master’s Program in Risk Management/Insurance (MS-RMI) provided me the opportunity to continue to grow my expertise while also affording me the flexibility to accomplish this despite my irregular availability for a traditional classroom setting.

3. How has the MS-RMI degree helped you in your current position and in achieving your career goals?

I spent the majority of my career in the claim side of the business. The program allowed me to broaden my insurance knowledge and skill set. I am absolutely certain that earning this degree was a key factor in my being selected for the President/CEO role.

4. How have you stayed connected to FSU and/or the RMI Program?

For many years, I was part of the Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council providing whatever assistance I could to the faculty and staff as we worked to further enhance and elevate the already strong reputation of the program. Now, I often present to students in Dr. Chuck Nyce’s Risk and Society classes.
