Mike Vergo, office managing partner, founded and opened the RSM Jacksonville office in 2005, and has been responsible for the growth and profitability of the company for the past 17 years. He also serves as the audit leader for RSM's eight Florida offices. RSM is the nation's fifth largest accounting firm and the largest provider of audit, tax and business consulting services focused on the middle market.
Vergo began his career working for Arthur Andersen, becoming a partner and part of the firm's elite "Partner Expert Network." After 17 years, he left Arthur Andersen in 2002 to become the owner of NF Consulting, which provided accounting and business consulting services to public and private companies.
A Florida State University alumnus and supporter, Vergo has assisted more than 1,000 FSU students in securing their first professional position after graduation. He helped lead RSM's recruiting efforts at FSU for more than a decade. Vergo also was instrumental in creating an Arthur Andersen endowment at FSU that funded a classroom in the College of Business and a professorship in the Department of Accounting.
A longtime resident of Jacksonville, Vergo has served as president and board member of the Ponte Vedra Athletic Association and has coached more than 30 youth sports teams. He also served as a trustee of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and chaired the United Way. Vergo also was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Audit Committee.
Vergo earned his FSU bachelor's degree in accounting in 1984, followed by his master's degree in accounting in 1985.
