Competition Overview
Managing cash flow, protecting assets, providing financial strategies – the nation’s banks provide the essential services needed for small businesses to boost growth and keep the economy’s engine running. Small businesses employ about 50% of the workforce according to the Small Business Administration. This third annual small business case competition, jointly hosted by Florida State University’s College of Business and SouthState Bank, gives future business leaders the opportunity to flex their business and financial muscles while developing solutions for real-world small business challenges.
Open to teams of three or four undergraduate and/or graduate students from select schools nationwide, the contest will take place on FSU’s campus in Tallahassee, Florida. Interested teams may register starting Monday, September 16 on a first-come, first-served basis. The competition is limited to 16 teams. Case details and supporting materials generated from SouthState Bank will be provided after registration closes on January 20, 2025 to all registered teams, giving competitors four weeks to prepare presentations they will deliver to a panel of industry judges. Prizes will be awarded to the top four teams.
