Dating back to 1977, Insurance Days is a career placement event that features access to FSU risk management/insurance (RMI) majors over three days, through a career fair, on-campus interviews and networking breakfasts and lunches. Held every fall and spring, this event assists RMI seniors in obtaining employment after graduation, as well as assists RMI underclassmen in securing internship positions. This event also enables students to network with recruiters to learn more about individual companies and their career opportunities.

For questions about Insurance Days, please contact Eileen Nyce, Program Coordinator, at rmi-center@business.fsu.edu.

2024 Fall Insurance Days

October 9-11

FOR STUDENTS

As an RMI major, your goal is to obtain employment in the risk management and insurance industry. Insurance Days offers you the opportunity to secure a job or internship by providing you direct access to recruiters in the RMI industry.

To successfully participate in Insurance Days, please read the following preparation checklist:

  1. Register today to participate in Insurance Days. Carefully check the spelling of your name and ensure all provided registration information is correct.

    REGISTER NOW

Check your email for a registration confirmation. DO NOT register twice. For any questions regarding registration, email us at rmi-center@business.fsu.edu.

  2. Create a professional resume. A professional resume makes a great first impression! Schedule an appointment with the FSU Career Center to review your resume for any corrections or needed improvements. For more information, visit career.fsu.edu/students/undergraduate-students/resumes-and-cover-letters.

  3. Submit your finalized resume for inclusion in the RMI Student Resume Book, which will be provided to all Insurance Days recruiters and participating companies before the event. The deadline to submit your resume is Thursday, February 1 by 5pm. Submissions should be made at bit.ly/idays23.

The RMI Student Resume Book is provided to all Insurance Days recruiters in advance of the event so they can set up interviews with students during Insurance Days. Be sure to monitor your email for direct communication from the participating recruiters.

  4. Order business cards to give to recruiters at Insurance Days’ Career Fair. Business cards can be ordered through the RMI Department and are FREE! Interested students order their business cards at bit.ly/idays23 by Thursday, February 1 by 5pm.

  5. Create and/or update your LinkedIn page. Be sure to include your LinkedIn public profile URL on your resume. LinkedIn is a great tool to make and maintain business relationships. Be sure to review all your social media accounts for professionalism, and scrub your accounts of any questionable or inappropriate material and/or photos.

  6. Access or create your student account in NoleNetwork  to sign up for interview times. Within NoleNetwork, review the available job postings made by Insurance Days recruiters to sign up for available interview times. Interview times (30-minute slots) will open on January 26. Continue to monitor your NoleNetwork account as jobs are often added after January 26. The deadline to sign-up for interview slots is Sunday, February 25 at midnight. Any remaining interview slots after the February 25 deadline can be filled directly with recruiters at the Career Fair on February 28.

FYI - To register for interviews within NoleNetwork, log into your account and click on the “Jobs” option at the top right. Select the “More Filters” option and scroll until you access the “OCR Interview Date” range for February 29 – March 1, 2024. From this list, scroll to those jobs being offered by our Insurance Days participating companies. Please consult the list of participating companies found on the main Insurance Days website.

  7. Do your research! Arrive at the Career Fair prepared! Review the participating companies on the main Insurance Days webpage for a complete listing of companies that will be in attendance. Research the companies by visiting their websites to learn where they are located, what they specialize in, their corporate culture, etc. Also review posted job openings in NoleNetwork to see their employment positions.

  8. Visit all company tables at the Career Fair. You are making connections with the individuals, not just companies. The individual connections you make at the Career Fair may be instrumental in the advancement of your career from entry-level and beyond.

  9. Prepare your professional attire in advance of Insurance Days. All students are required to dress professionally (suits, ties, non-revealing clothing, etc.) to attend. If not dressed professionally, admittance to Insurance Days may be denied.

For specifics on how to dress professionally, please review the Dress for Success Guide. For those in need of professional attire, please visit the FSU Career Center’s ProfessioNole Clothing Closet website for information or to schedule an appointment through NoleNetwork. Appointments are available between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
