Andre Maciel is an assistant professor in the Rockwood School of Marketing in Florida State University’s College of Business, where his research and teaching combine marketing, sociology and anthropology. He's an expert in qualitative methods, having published articles in elite business journals, such as the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Marketing. Before joining academia, he worked for about 10 years in industry, playing leading roles in customer service, customer insight and branding teams.
Andre loves travelling and playing sports. Originally from Brazil, he grew up playing soccer, including playing semi-professionally for a few years while in college. He's now having a lot of fun learning how to play tennis. Andre also loves a good carrot cake.
