Gabriel Carrillo is the executive director of the Risk Management & Insurance Center, which is housed in the Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance in Florida State University’s College of Business. An industry veteran whose career has included working in a number of functional areas in property and casualty, his roles have included underwriting, actuarial, research, product development, product management and 15 years of executive-level leadership.
Active in academia and the insurance industry, Carrillo served on the board and finance committee of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and on the board and executive committee of the Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services at Illinois State University. He currently serves on the advisory board of Purdue University’s Actuarial Science Program and has guest lectured at Purdue University’s The Data Mine.
Carrillo earned his bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Purdue University, with a minor in business management from the Krannert School of Management. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in business administration with a major in risk management and insurance at Florida State University, as well as his CPCU® and ARe™ designations.
