Dr. Jason Pappas is an adjunct professor in the Department of Management at Florida State University's College of Business. He brings a unique blend of business management and sports administration to his teaching. With over thirty years of experience in higher education and the sport industry, Dr. Pappas offers students an interdisciplinary perspective on leadership, organizational behavior, and strategic management.
Pappas earned his Ed.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California, an M.Ed. in Education Administration from the University of South Carolina, an M.S. in Sport Administration and a B.S. in Business Communications from Florida State University. His diverse academic and professional experience bridges the gap between business and sport, allowing him to offer students insights that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries.
Pappas' primary role is as a teaching professor within the FSU College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) and as the Sport Management Practicum Coordinator. His dual expertise in business and sport enables him to guide students in both fields, preparing them for leadership roles in various industries. As the Practicum Coordinator, he oversees the integration of academic theory with experiential learning, helping students gain practical experience through internships and partnerships with leading sport organizations.
Dr. Pappas is also the co-author of Masters of the Game. This book explores leadership and business strategies from prominent sports executives, further reinforcing the connection between sport and business. His commitment to instructional excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the University Teaching Award and the Transformation Through Teaching Award.
