Mark Zeigler is a senior lecturer and director of first year experience programs in the Center for Professional Success at Florida State University’s College of Business. He is excited to build new opportunities for freshman to become involved the day they arrive on campus.

Prior to coming to the college, he was on the faculty in FSU’s School of Communication for nearly 30 years. In addition to his teaching career, Zeigler has given speeches on communication, grief, relationships and leadership to audiences all over the country. 

Zeigler earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and chemistry from Stetson University and a master’s degree in higher education administration from FSU. He also has completed graduate work in the areas of rhetoric and public address and sociology.

Interesting Facts

Zeigler has served twice as interim director of FSU’s London Program in 2004 and 2004. He is head marshall for FSU commencements, reading every graduate’s name since 2009. He also served as the commencement speaker during the pandemic at FSU’s first virtual ceremony in 2020. He enjoys all outdoor activities, dogs, all FSU sports, theatre, going to the gym, travel, reading and spending time in the cabin in the mountains of North Carolina.
