Dr. Ömer Arslan is an instructional technologist in Academic Technology at Florida State University’s College of Business. He is interested in high-quality online course design, development and facilitation in higher education contexts with a focus on establishing effective instructor social presence and identity that promotes student wellbeing, engagement and academic performance. He focuses on data informed teaching-learning practices and is enthusiastic about bridging theory and practice.
Ömer received a bachelor’s degree in computer education and instructional technology from Middle East Technical University, a master's degree in the same program from Amasya University and a Ph.D. in instructional systems and learning technologies from Florida State University.
He enjoys walking around lakes, exploring local coffee shops and staying in touch with family and friends.
