Academic Overview
Here's an overview of the school and departments in the College of Business. All offer active student organizations, speaker series, competitions and other activities and events along with emphasizing individual attention, real-world relevance, ethics, connections, opportunities – and your future.
Department of Accounting
The accounting department houses our No. 31-ranked undergraduate accounting program and stays highly connected with the top worldwide accounting firms, as well as national and regional firms. It also offers one of the highest-ranked and most active chapters of Beta Alpha Psi, the department's national scholastic and professional fraternity.
Department of Business Analytics, Information Systems and Supply Chain
This department – which we call BAISSC – features our management information systems programs and offers one of the college's newest academic programs: an undergraduate minor in business analytics. It also recently launched a successful sports analytics club.
Department of Finance
The finance department offers the largest major in the college and one of the largest on campus. The department features active clubs and organizations and manages a $5.9 million Student Investment Fund, a student-driven vehicle that enriches education through active participation in financial markets. And its Financial Management Association Student Chapter has been racking up first-place case competition wins across the nation and world this year.
Department of Management
The management department offers two majors – management and human resource management. The department is committed to providing students the education, technical knowledge and leadership skills needed to pursue a successful professional career in whatever industry setting they choose.
Rockwood School of Marketing
The Dr. Persis E. Rockwood School of Marketing includes our lauded undergraduate marketing program and features arguably the best professional sales program in the nation. Faculty members stay connected with best business practices worldwide and equip their students to advance in their careers. Also, the school's students have been distinguishing themselves in various global competitions.
Department of Risk Management/Insurance, Real Estate and Legal Studies
This department houses two Top 10 undergraduate programs among public schools: No. 4-ranked Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance's Program in Risk Management and Insurance and No. 6-ranked real estate. The department welcomes industry partners across all programs and manages the FSU Real Estate TRENDS Conference, a world-class forum that highlights emerging trends and conditions facing the industry. It also runs Insurance Days, a highly successful placement event for its RMI majors.

The College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). About 5 percent of business schools worldwide achieve this.

Our 108 faculty members include eight eminent scholars, one university named professor and 39 named professors.

Academic Majors
The nine undergraduate majors include accounting, finance, human resource management, management, management information systems, marketing, professional sales, real estate and risk management/insurance.
International Coursework
Business coursework is offered in China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Panama, Portugal, South Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.K. and Uruguay.
Combined Pathways
Top business undergraduates in nearly all majors can get a head start on graduate school by pursuing a combined pathway. Selected students can substitute specific graduate coursework for undergraduate classes and count up to three courses toward both bachelor's and master's degrees, possibly saving time and money.

Learn about the college's professional development and networking programs, student organizations and other activities offered throughout the academic year – and get some free food and swag.
Combined Pathways Information Session – September TBA
Join the College of Business advisors and faculty members to learn more about the college’s 12 Combined Pathways, which allow high-achieving business students to take graduate classes that count toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. The session includes a Q&A with each pathway’s representative.
Business Career Expo – Tuesday, Sept. 17
Meet employers and talk about jobs and internship opportunities at this recruiting event open to all business students, including freshmen.
FSU Biz Family Weekend Open House – Friday, Sept. 20
Sign up for a guided walking tour of the college for you and your family from members of our Student Leadership Council.
Other Events
The college also offers continuous speaker series – including the Bruning Distinguished Speaker Series – and events that will help you master your major and career or focus specifically on what's important for your chosen major and industry.
