About
Organized by FSU’s Risk Management & Insurance Center, the RMI Research Symposium brings together some of the world’s leading risk management scholars to present their original research and discuss emerging trends, debate issues and share perspectives on the risk management and insurance marketplace.
FSU held its inaugural Research Symposium on February 2-4, 2023, at the Hotel Effie in Miramar Beach, Florida. The event was made possible with funding from FSU’s Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance's Program in Risk Management and Insurance, as well as from the American Risk and Insurance Association. Seven papers on various topics related to risk and insurance were presented by authors from universities around the world. The authors received pointed feedback from discussants, as well as participants of the seminar. The event served to highlight the important role FSU’s RMI program plays in helping to advance knowledge in the discipline of risk management and insurance.
The third annual RMI Research Symposium is scheduled for January 23-25, 2025 at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa in Safety Harbor, Florida. We hope to see you there!
Call for Papers
The Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance's Program in Risk Management & Insurance at Florida State University invites authors to submit papers on any topic related to risk management and/or insurance. The goal of the symposium is to facilitate a setting where authors can present their work in detail and receive helpful and critical feedback from a group of risk and insurance economists. Authors of accepted papers will be given approximately one hour to present their work, and each paper will also be assigned a discussant to provide detailed feedback on the paper.
Call for Papers – Print Version
Submission Procedure
Submissions are due on September 27, 2024. Submissions should be emailed as PDF attachments to rmi-center@business.fsu.edu with the subject line Research Symposium. Although most submissions and most accepted papers are likely to be in full draft or essentially completed form, we actively encourage submission of works-in-progress that would benefit from the longer presentation times. The FSU RMI faculty will serve as the program committee and authors of accepted papers will be notified on October 15, 2024, or soon thereafter.
Agenda
If you have any questions about the symposium or if you are interested in being a discussant, please contact us at rmi-center@business.fsu.edu.
