Organized by Florida State University, the University of Florida and the University of Miami, the Florida Accounting Symposium (FAS) provides a forum to facilitate the interaction of accounting researchers (especially junior faculty and doctoral students) and the exchange of research ideas in the great Sunshine State. All three organizing universities take turns in hosting the two-day annual event, which typically is scheduled in September.
Accounting researchers from any of the accounting Ph.D. granting institutions within Florida are invited to submit manuscripts to be presented at the symposium. Approximately six papers will be presented over the two-day event. All presentations last for one hour and 15 minutes, and there are no discussants. The FAS exposes doctoral students to a wide range of accounting methodologies.
