Management offers challenging and rewarding opportunities in supervisory and administrative positions in private business, nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies. A top-ranked program by U.S. News & World Report, the Department of Management is committed to providing students the education, technical knowledge and leadership skills necessary to pursue a successful professional career in whatever industry setting they choose. Classes are taught by innovative faculty members who are intent on transforming students into leaders prepared to prosper in a borderless economy. The department works with its Human Resource Management Advisory Board and other stakeholders to keep its curriculum relevant and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, as well as opportunities for students to network with industry executives.

Faculty members’ research and creative activity reflect their diverse interests and include organizational politics, organizational leaderships and supervision, unions and worker attitudes toward unions, information technology workers, employment discrimination, employee selection methods, job performance, work and family life balance, work passion and engagement, and business and creative writing. Their research is enhanced through the department’s FSU Organizational Effectiveness Institute (OEI).
